Save 50 percent off your summertime stay at select Princess Lodges, including:

a. Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge. Located at milepost 133.1 of the George Parks Highway, the lodge sits on a bluff overlooking the Chulitna River. It’s hard not to see Mt. McKinley from the lodge, since it’s the closest hotel to the mountain. Plan for flightseeing, jetboat tours and more in neighboring Talkeetna. Here’s a shot:

b. Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge. Located just outside Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, this is wild country. From the hotel, you can see the mighty Wrangell Mountains, the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and the Klutina River. Fishing, jetboat tours of the Copper River, excursions to McCarthy and the town of McCarthy–it’s all available at the Copper River Princess. Here’s a shot:

c. Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge. Each cottage at the lodge has its own fireplace, with a balcony that looks over the Kenai River or Kenai Lake. It’s a beautiful setting. Plan a scenic raft trip or fishing adventure on the beautiful Kenai RIver at the same time you make your reservations. Ask about the outdoor hot tub!

d. Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge. Located right at the park entrance, this is a great staging area for tours inside Denali National Park, raft trips on the Nenana River, or a trip to see the sled dogs of Iditarod Champion Jeff King (don’t miss it!).

Getting there is half the fun–especially with 50 percent savings on the Midnight Sun Express private rail cars! The Princess Rail tours depart each day from Anchorage and Fairbanks. It’s the best way to reach either the McKinley Princess or the Denali Princess–via the scenic Alaska Railroad. In fact, when you book your Princess Alaska Rail Tour, your hotel is included! Check online for more details or call (800)426-0500. Love this shot of the train headed north:

After an unsatisfactory stay and misrepresentation at Princess Wilderness in summer 09 and no response to comment card, would NEVER stay at another Princess Lodge or recommend to friends. Will look to other companies on our return trip.

My family and I have stayed at all 5 Princess Alaska lodges over the years and have enjoyed outstanding accommodation in each and every case. We’ll be back again and again!
