Frontier Alaska’s new service on Era Aviation between Anchorage and Barrow and between Anchorage and Aniak starts tomorrow, June 1.n889ea-full-right11

In addition to Era Aviation, both Frontier Flying Service and Hageland Aviation fly under the Frontier Alaska banner.  All together, the three airlines serve more than 90 communities around the state.

Frontier Flying Service, based in Fairbanks, offers service to the North Slope, to Nome and Kotzebue and a host of communities in between.

Hageland Aviation concentrates more on smaller communities because of their extensive fleet of smaller aircraft.

On June 1, Era’s Dash-8 will provide daily service ANC-FAI-BRW and return each day. This is a great opportunity to see Barrow–either by buying a ticket or using Alaska Airlines points.

To Aniak, Era will operate the Beechcraft 1900D aircraft. With 19 seats, the stand-up cabin will offer a new level of comfort for travelers.

Be sure and watch for upcoming web specials and fare sales on the website. Also, you can follow Era Aviation on Twitter to stay up-to-date: www.twitter.com/eraaviation .

Its true you can use airline points with Era, but not with Frontier or Hageland AND you cannot use these airlines all at once ..meaning if you fly from a rural location trying to get to Anchorage you can no longer use Frontier from the interior because they NO LONGER FLY TO ANCHORAGE!! You HAVE to fly Era which means…prices may vary because purchasing rules/early purchase requirements will be different for different legs. This merger is not good for anyone except the owners of this airline UNTIL they redeem Alaska Air miles on all carriers and until you can actually call ONE airlines to get from one place to another. Until then…its one more annoyance after another. Ill stick with the other little guys.

That’s stupid that Frontier is making Era do the Fairbanks to Anchorage flights because Era only does three flights to Anchorage from Fairbanks. And since Frontier bought Era Frontier has jacked the price up to about $300 dollars to Anchorage from Fairbanks when it used to be about $150 with Era before they were bought out by Frontier. So I’ve stopped flying with Era and now I’ve been flying with Alaska Airlines.
