INTRA-ALASKA sale: 25 percent off fares to/from Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau.

PLUS: Save up to 50 percent on a ticket in January/February 2011. Here’s how: Register for the promotion–and you’ll save 10 percent on a ticket. If you fly two segments in Oct/Nov 2010, you’ll get a 20 percent discount. Fly 3 segments, get a 30 percent discount…up to 7 segments for the 50 percent discount. This is available only for Alaska residents.

IMPORTANT: These rates are listed “plus tax” because I’m in a hurry. For Mexico tickets, for example, add about $90 in taxes/fees for each roundtrip ticket. Tickets must be purchased by Oct. 23, 2010. Travel must be completed by Aug. 18, 2011. Travel FROM Alaska not permitted 11/18 – 21, 24/2010, 12/14 – 24/2010, 3/2 – 7, 2011. Travel TO Alaska not permitted 11/28-12/2, 2010, 12/26/10-1/5/2011, 3/10-15/2011.  The best fares apply for travel on Monday, Tue., Wed., Thu.

    Hey Scott,

I looked for where to register for the
Alaska Air promotion to get a percentage of a ticket off. Can’t find it!! Any ideas? It’s not on the Alaska web site…or at least I couldn’t find it.

    Thanks,
    Jackie

Hi Jackie–Thanks for your note. The registration info will be up tomorrow AM. I just sent this out for readers to get a jump on the fares themselves. I’m going to register, too!

Just saw you on Monday at Lands End. Enjoyed your presentation, love your attitude and was telling everyone you’d have PFD specials on today! Yea! Here they are!!

Hi Pete–Thx 4 yr note. Check the registration page at alaskaair.com tomorrow AM. Basically, any tickets that you purchase for travel in Oct/Nov applies to your discount for a ticket in Jan/Feb. You have to purchase those tickets for Oct/Nov travel no later than Oct 23. Then, by Dec 15, they will send you the discount code you need to redeem up to a 50 percent discount for a ticket in Jan/Feb. Lots of moving parts to this particular discount…but since I’m flying at least five or six segments in these two months alone, I probably can configure a 50 percent discount. Not too hard. Hope that helps, s

Hi Rita. Ya–probably ’cause you want to go when everyone else wants to go…in Jan/Feb/Mar. Here’s the “mice type” from Alaska’s ad:
“Travel between Anchorage and Maui must be nonstop, and is valid November 8 – December 15, 2010, and March 16 – April 2, 2011. Service between Anchorage and Maui operates Monday, Thursday, and Saturday only.”

    Uh…..John. That would be:
    a. Personal Flotation Device
    b. Permanent Fund Dividend
Pick one. Fact is, for many of we Alaskans, the PFD check is a Personal (financial) Flotation Device of sorts. HA

Scott, We have tickets to Zihuatenejo, MX in February – $500/PP from LAX. I wonder if it’s possible to exchange these for a PFD deal. I can’t find anything on yours or AAL’s site that shows the special PFD pricing for Zihua.

Hi Pat–I believe you can upgrade the tickets…there may be an exchange fee, tho’. The tickets to ZIH are $299 each way from Anchorage, plus the taxes of about $90 each. Hope that helps,s

Hey Scott – When I try to access PFD fares on the Alaska Airline reservations, I do not get the fare you quoted of $279 one way Anch. to Honolulu. Instead I get fares of $327 and $647 each way. How do I get PFD fares? marty

Hi Marty–Thanks for your note. It all depends on the flight, the day of travel and all that. Check the “Low Fare Calendar” when you’re searching for your fare online. Or, check with USTravel. Of course, there is an add’l ticketing fee w/them. Best, s
