There’s an interesting backstory about how the new carrier, Edelweiss, was lobbied into providing additional air service to Alaska and the Yukon. Stay tuned for more developments on this! Specifically, I expect Edelweiss to drop their prices to be more in line with Condor’s. For example, the lowest price Anchorage-Frankfurt is $817 roundtrip, all-in for travel May 7-21. Compare that to Edelweiss‘s price for their inaugural flight from Anchorage to Zurich: $1,660 roundtrip Anchorage-Zurich (May 30-June 13). Quite a spread! In fact--it’s TWICE the price. Hmmm.
