There’s always something brewing with our friends at Alaska Airlines. But here are some specials that come right to the front of the screen:

Anchorage-Honolulu $440 roundtrip. This deal is valid RIGHT NOW through October 24, 2013. Are you leaving from Fairbanks? Add $100 ($540 roundtrip) for treavel through Oct. 27, 2013. This is a great way to lock in some sunshine as the daylight wanes!

Anchorage-Phoenix NONSTOP starts Dec. 18, 2013. But the DEALS kick in on Jan. 1, 2014. Fly roundtrip for as little as $416 roundtrip through April 16, 2014. The nonstop NON-RED-EYE (other travelers refer to these as “daylight flights” HAHA)operates on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Anchorage-Las Vegas NONSTOP starts Dec. 19, 2013…with super-discounts kicking in on Jan. 5, 2014. I am seeing fares for as little as $396 roundtrip NONSTOP NON-RED-EYE (love that!)through May 18, 2014. The new nonstops operate on Sunday, Thursday and Friday.imgres

Anchorage-Los Angeles NONSTOP between Sep 23 and Oct. 1, 2013. Just $340 roundtrip. This is a great deal. It’s nonstop. And it’s NON-RED-EYE. HEY! I think we’re on to something!

Remember: sign up for Club 49 if you live in Alaska. It’s free to enroll and members receive two free checked bags when flying to/from Alaska. Also, there are G-R-E-A-T weekly air fare sales. They pop up on my screen late on Monday. But I can’t stay up that late–so I get the email early each Tuesday morning. Remember–these are short-term deals. You have a couple of days to purchase them(typically by Thursday evening)…so act fast (you know: “Buy Now and SAVE!”).

BUY EVERYTHING with your Alaska Airlines VISA card from Bank of America. It’s a great way to pad your mileage account. Plus, you get a $114 companion pass each year. That means when you buy a coach ticket to any destination on Alaska Airlines, you can get a companion fare for $114 ($99 plus applicable taxes and fees. The total for travel to Mexico is more like $141). The companion fare is a big reason why our family has two of the cards. There is a $79 annual fee. Oh–if you don’t have one, you get a 25,000-mile bonus when you sign up and get approved. That’s enough for a free ticket between Alaska and the Lower 48. And not just on Alaska Air, either. I got a one-way ticket from Anchorage to Pensacola, Florida on Alaska and American Air for just 12,500 miles (on July 4!!).

Stay tuned for more deals…coming tonight with Club 49, actually!
