It’s the smiling-est deck in town, especially on a sunny day like today. Break out the shades and join us at the hotel formerly known as  Millennium Alaskan Hotel!

That’s right! The hotel, after its $10 million renovation, changed its name to the “Lakeshore Anchorage”. And yes, it IS right on the water, which makes the deck oh-so-special! Meet me for a tall, cool one tomorrow afternoon!!

fish tacosa. Special #AvGeek points as you watch the float planes land and take off on Lake Hood.
b. Awesome appetizers like the award-winning seafood tacos (pictured), smoked-salmon Copper River Sockeye salmon mousse or the Bison bacon+cheddar cheese sliders (a real mouthful!).
c. Signature cocktails, including the “Berry Patch” (pictured, top). Also, there’s a great selection of local beers on tap, as well as wines by-the-glass.

Thecarol Lakeshore’s GM, Carol Fraser and I share a moment in the evening sun getting ready for the after-work crowd.

Does it get any better than this? I think not. Is the Deck at Lake Hood indeed Anchorage’s Best Deck? I think so. HAHA. See you there! You can call the hotel: (907)243-2300 to get more information. But why not just SHOW UP?  Join us  for a fresh bite, a cool beverage and some world-class plane-spotting in the glorious Alaska sunshine.

Oh, by the way–why is Carol smiling? It’s because she’s happy the Lakeshore Anchorage is “pretty again”. Cue the summer fun!
