We <3 Kodiak. Our favorite dinner cruise on the “Sea Breeze” departs each afternoon during the summer from the harbor. Marty and Marion Owen are great hosts, with their oceanfront “Cliff House” b-n-b. If you visit the Cliff House, you’ll walk through Marion’s gallery of fine photography. How about that northern lights shot (above)? Marion titled it “Sherbet Sky”. She does great work with snowflakes, natural scenes and wildlife. And she’s put together a couple of nice collections. The first is a selection of postcards. The second is a calendar. Well, it’s more than a calendar–it includes photos, recipes and inspirations from Kodiak! 
Marion and I talked the other day about the magic of postcards. It’s always a pleasant surprise to receive one in the mail, isn’t it? That’s especially true when it’s from an exotic place–or from a dear friend.
So here’s our idea: write ME a postcard. Go ahead and scribble a note. Tell me what’s happening. Where are you going? Where have you been? What travel info are you seeking? What do you want for Christmas? HAHA. I’ll pick a few that I like and send you a PACK of postcards from Marion. They are BEAUTIFUL. Then, the GRAND PRIZE winner will receive one of Marion’s calendars. This calendar…oh my. If you’ve been to Alaska’s Emerald Isle, it’s a beautiful reminder. If you’ve never been–you’ll want to make plans to visit!
