LIVE from Girona, Spain. Kelly Jo McGee over at USTravel is right. Europe is HOT! Why? Fares are down. Crowds are thinned out. It’s a buyers market and that means there are DEALS. PARIS, BORDEAUX, LOURDES and MONACO. Take this wine tour, plus a side trip to Lourdes.  Start your trip with two nights in Paris and enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. A guided sightseeing tour includes a visit to Notre Dame Cathedral and an ascent to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower. Then continue by high-speed “TGV” train to Bordeaux and enjoy an excursion to St. Emilion for a tour of the most famous wine region of France plus a wine tasting (YUM!). Okay, true confessions: I’ve been up late and I now am up early planning our trip to Spain. The first leg of our journey is on my favorite time machine: Condor. In case you don’t know, Condor flies nonstop from Anchorage three times a week to Frankfurt–and once each week to Fairbanks. Suh-weet.

So, if you have not been to Europe, Frankfurt is a great hub airport. Last time we flew, we continued to Rome. This time–it’s to Barcelona. We’ve been boning up on activities, adventures and some extra gear. I just got a new camera bag–and I’m trying to figure out how to cram everything into one small carry-on bag.
