Typically, I love the kayaking (Pangaea Adventures) and the glacier cruises (Stan Stephens Cruises). But there’s fun for everyone!
Fly, drive or sail to Valdez. If you’re coming from Fairbanks, Valdez is a straight shot down the Richardson Highway. From Anchorage, you can take a quick 50-minute flight on Era Alaska. Or, you can drive up and over the mountains to Glennallen, then back down to Valdez. Or, you can sail across Prince William Sound on the Alaska Marine Highway to/from Whittier. Great fun. Great sailing! We had a great time in Catalonia in Northeastern Spain last month with the Charles and Tracy at Spanish Trails. Here’s a brief video on kayaking through the caves and coves off the coast. Pay special attention to the geology of the rock. Many different colors of sedimentary rock line the shore.
Oh, the caves are very cool! We went out in the kayak, then came back around in the Zodiac for some up-close shots.
You’ve GOT to go visit Spain! In and around Barcelona, Spanish Trails offers a number of trips, including kayaking, hiking, climbing, wine-tasting, horseback riding and city tours.
We love Across the Bay Tent-n-Breakfast, even if we cannot remember how to say it on the air! HA!
