Gray Line of Alaska offers a great selection of web specials for travel from either Anchorage or Fairbanks, including private rail car and accommodations at the McKinley Princess Lodge, the Denali Princess Lodge–or both.
a. Value Leader: two days/one night from Anchorage. All around Alaska, Gray Line moves travelers around on its fleet of motorcoaches and private train cars. We’ve got some great specials this summer.

But Gray Line also has a couple of great destinations that I love:
ptarmigan
a. Portage Glacier Cruises. This cruise is just 54 miles from Anchorage on the way to Whittier. The m/v Ptarmigan sails right up to within 300 yards of the glacier’s face–plenty close to feel the big chunks of ice as they fall off into Portage Lake.
