More flights in/out of Anchorage means more competition for travelers. That means summertime fares will go down. That’s a good thing. See some of the elements of a fare war brewing in this segment from KTVA, CBS 11 in Anchorage. 

My friend Steve Hites lives in Skagway, where he first joined the White Pass Railway 36 years ago. Today, he runs the Skagway Streetcar Company–which gives tours of the city in vintage 1927 airporters. They do a great job! Here, he shares a little bit about workin’ on the railroad!

Wow. Great trip to the Alaska Rainforest Sanctuary–where we snuck up on a  few bears gorging themselves on salmon. Then, zip-zip-zip we went on the Alaska Canopy Tour through the rainforest. Great stuff in Herring Cove, just outside of Ketchikan. Check it out:
